Vans has been busy all-throughout 2020, but the tailed of summer has ostensibly seen the California-institution crank up its productivity.
Collections Vans with MoMa and BJ Betts demonstrate that the waffle-outsole shoes have transcended their action sports origin, but an upcoming Crockett High Pro collaboration by Quasi Skateboards nods to the brand’s roots.
Last week we got the clip from Vans and Quasi, and this week, we get the goods
The new collab from Quasi Skateboards and Vans is hitting shelves this Friday, and it’s oozing with style, durability, and fresh colourways in the form of the Crockett High Pro and Quasi tote bag.
Since getting to know Gilbert Crockett in his hometown back in Issue 64 of Monster Children, we’ve known that not only is he one of the most detail-oriented skaters we’ve met, but his perfectionist streak flows over to all his creative projects too; whether it’s tattooing, drawing, or trawling for vintage finds.
It makes sense then, that the new Quasi x Vans collab has Gilbert written all over it—from the Crockett High Pro inspired by early 20th-century basketball and military boot-inspired lines, to the new Quasi colourways (true white/surf the web and black/blue) that give a nod to Crockett’s love for thrifting, art, and vintage style.
Sold alongside the bag will be the Quasi tote, an oversized, all-black utilitarian bag crafted from durable 14 oz canvas and finished with Quasi jacquard webbing handles.
Don’t miss out!
The Crocket High Pro and Quasi tote bag are available worldwide on September 24, 2020, at select Vans Pro Skate shops.
Founded by Chad Bowers in Dayton, Ohio, Quasi is rooted in a rejection of the skate industry status quo.
Local skater and Vans team member Gilbert Crockett has shared Bowers’ uncompromising creative vision, which has finally found its way on Crockett’s signature shoe. Normally a low-top, the Crockett has been turned into a high-top silhouette for enhanced performance. Furthermore, the extra real estate allows for the “True White/Surf The Web” and “Black/Blue” colorways to make statements across the collaborative duo.
Both pairs boast some of Vans’ signature technical details, including DURACAP-reinforced suede and canvas uppers, UltraCush HD sockliners and Wafflecup outsoles.
Each option, however, nods to a different interest of Crockett’s, be it thrifting and ’70s thrifted sportswear or military garb and vintage “OFF THE WALL” high-tops.
